Oat and Oat Products

Oats are a nutritious cereal, particularly rich in dietary fiber. Generally speaking, oat-based drinks have a good nutritional profile: they are low in saturated fat, while providing a range of interesting nutrients (dietary fibre, added vitamins and minerals). They allow for variety and therefore have their place within a healthy and balanced diet.

Oats are naturally lactose-free and have a favorable lipid profile because they are low in saturated fats. Most Alpro oat-based drinks are also rich in fiber, with calcium and vitamins B2, B12 and D2.

Oat-based drinks naturally contain sugar or can be sugar-free, thanks to a different production process (the enzymatic reaction causing the transformation of starch into sugar is then stopped).

Alpro oat products have a smooth subtle creamy taste, which means they can be used in many occassions: straight from the glass, in hot drinks or over a breakfast bowl. The versatility also means they can be used in many recipes.

Use of oat drinks makes it possible to diversify the diet in order to increase fiber intake, help limit the total intake of sugar and saturated fat while providing a set of interesting nutrients.

How are Alpro Oat Products Made?

Alpro uses hydrolysed oat flour: the oats are ground and made soluble, before being mixed with water. Other ingredients and nutrients, such as calcium and vitamins, can then be added to this base.

Oat drinks either contain naturally occurring sugars or can (by the use of a different production process) be without any sugars.

Good to know, Alpro only uses oats grown in Europe!
